We’re in the heart of summer now, and with children out of school for over a month they may be getting restless. That’s exactly why our team here at Certified Autoplex wants to share a few family-friendly local events for drivers in the Carrollton, Texas area to enjoy throughout the month of July. There’s so much to do here, so get ready to fill your schedules!
Picnic in the Park
When: Saturday, July 9 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Where: Harvest Run Park at 4334 Spurwood Drive
It’s National Parks and Recreation month, so we’re celebrating with a picnic in the park. This event is hosted by the city’s Parks and Recreation department, and it was designed for you and your family to enjoy. There will be tons of fun activities for the younger crowd including arts and crafts, games and sports. Hot dogs, chips and water will be provided as well. For more information, click here.
Movie on the Square
When: Saturday, July 9 starting at 8:30 p.m.
Where: Downtown Carrollton at 1106 Broadway Street
If you have teenagers, it may be more difficult to find events and activities that they’ll enjoy as much as the little ones. With that in mind, the city is hosting a free outdoor screening of Jurassic World, which is rated PG-13. It will start at sunset. Bring your own lawn chairs, blankets and anything else you’ll need to get comfortable. If it’s raining, this event will be cancelled. Click here for further details.
Swim-in Cinema
When: Saturday, July 22 starting at 7 p.m.
Where: Rosemeade Rainforest Aquatic Complex at 1334 East Rosemeade Parkway
Every year, the Rosemeade Rainforest Aquatic Complex hosts a poolside movie night for families to enjoy together. This year they’ll be showing the movie Inside Out, which will start playing around 7 p.m. It will be open swim during this time as well. In order to get resident rates, be sure to have your driver’s license handy. Children ages 3 and under are free of charge. Further details can be found here.
