It’s an exciting year for the Lexus IS, as the redesigned 2017 model arrives at dealerships across the U.S. Drivers can enjoy a refreshed exterior along with an updated safety system. Lexus also added a unique twist to the lineup with the Sriracha IS. Inspired by the popular hot sauce from Huy Fong Foods, this special model brings a bold and distinctive touch to the Lexus IS family.
Lexus wanted to ‘turn up the heat’ with custom auto detailing, food-inspired touches, and a stockpile of easily accessible Sriracha, so that’s exactly what happened. The Lexus Sriracha IS was on display at the Los Angeles Auto Show last week for everyone to enjoy.
“I feel so humbled to see my Lexus and Sriracha friends’ love for my hot sauce,” said David Tran, CEO and founder of Huy Fong Foods. “The Lexus Sriracha IS is really the perfect mix for a ‘hot’ and ‘spicy car’ – just the way I like it.”

The crew at West Coast Customs turned the Lexus Sriracha from a dream into reality. If you remember the MTV show “Pimp My Ride,” you will recognize the inspiration behind this vehicle’s creation. To see what the Sriracha IS has to offer, Lexus released a teaser video showcasing this unique model.
The Lexus Sriracha IS features meticulous attention to detail. Believe it or not, the team even added Sriracha to the paint to create the perfect shade of red. The finish also features chili-like flakes for a distinctive look. Inside, the steering wheel continues the Sriracha-inspired theme. It even features a “Hot Handling” warning label for an extra touch of personality.
There are plenty of other ways the theme is tied together with temperatures going from cool to Sriracha hot, and a Sriracha Driving Mode designed for faster gear changes and more dynamic throttle mapping.
The plush leather seats are complete with hand-embroidered Huy Fong rooster logos, the Sriracha IS logo, and green accents like the traditional sauce bottle. Other green accents include interior cabin mood lighting, hand-stitching on the seats, and a spindle grille outline.
To take this car over the top, there were 43 bottles of Sriracha in the trunk, and the key fob dispensed sauce from the nozzle. Two custom-made driving jackets were also created with unique Sriracha IS images and patterns.
